i can catch money
Last sunday was really my lucky day and smooth-sailing day!

1) My parents managed to sell our condo for a price higher than expected.

2) I managed to book our Korea trip finally.. at the travel fair

3) You know the mandarin variety show called 普威之夜 where participants go on stage to catch money falling down ? I can do that too!! haha.. or least something close to that.. :) There was a lucky draw at the travel fair, where one lucky person will be selected at the hourly draw, to go on stage and catch the monopoly-like money falling from a cardboard box. I always go on and on to kenneth, complaining that i never win lucky draws, so everytime i fill up lucky draw coupons, i will use his name and particulars, thinking he is luckier than me..

BUT, cos the travel fair cum IT fair at Suntec was causing such a massive jam and lack of carpark lots around Cityhall area, kenneth was busy parking the car while his mommy and i went down first to book the tour. As it turned out, we finished booking the tour even before he came down. So this time, i had no choice but to use my particulars to fill up the coupons.

We nearly (and i really mean nearly) missed the chance to win. I accidently ticked the 8pm draw for all 15 coupons, thinking we will be informed by post if we won. However, while asking around for where the box to toss the coupons was, the LUCKY man (from now on, anyone who helped me along my lucky way shall be lucky too :) haha) told me that i have to be present at the draw in order to qualify. So i cancelled the "8pm tick" and ticked off "4pm".

Then we went to the stage. I cannot explain the feeling of how i felt so strangely that i might really win this time. I turned to Kenneth, and told him how scared i was, cos what if i went on stage and didn't managed to catch anything.. very paiseh, cos everyone will be looking.

He said "give me all the bags, think u are going on stage soon."

I said "Ahhhh, i really don't want, scared."

Then another LUCKY man on stage (the MC) said "this lucky girl stays at Joo Chiat". My heart really dropped.

It was really really hard to catch the money.. in the end i only caught 3 pieces. Haha.. but LUCKILY one LUCKY piece was $500!!! hee.. so in total i won $650, which can be used to partially offset my travel bill. YAAY!

4) My best friend's wedding went super super well, and i am so happy for her. Manda, u look real good in all the pictures.. will send u more one of these days..

After 2 days, i still feel lucky :)Think the feeling will last for a while more, and it definitely feels good!

*long pause*
Me: Ok
Friend: haha.. ok?
Me: Oh, sorry sorry, was that what i replied? Happy CNY too!

Anyhow, March 10 and March 11 is just round the weekend, and finally my best friend since primary school is getting married. I am so excited for my sweet friend cos she is the first in our GIRL GANG to get married, (quite the least expected).

Pre- new year thoughts
To kick start ushering in the New Year 2007, my company has declared today an official half day, and an unofficial slack day, because i just don't feel like doing serious work :P

We have booked tickets to watch Death Note 2 tonight, and i simply can't wait. It seems highly unlikely that this movie (or rather Death Note 1) should rank so highly on my fav movie list, and till now i still don't fully comprehend, so i have concluded that maybe it is just because i like L in the show.. haha.. his brilliance and girly gestures is very endearing..

Anyhow, while reading my emails this morning, the mail from Kwong set me thinking about things. His email made me realise that Kenneth and I are the only "surviving" couple since JC days among our group of close friends, and i should be v thankful that i still feel Kenneth is the ONE for me.

We definitely don't share more similarities than differences, in fact, we are really different from each other. As discussed with SY the other day, everything boils down to how much differences/flaws you can tolerate in your partner that keeps a relationship going.. and for me, the tolerance level is dependent on how much you need the partner in your life (and vice versa), and the realisation that no one else will mean as much to u as him. And that's why you can overlook small and BIG differences; and appreciate your partner for the things he has given up/changed for you, and the qualities he still retains that makes him the guy you initially (and always) will love..

Enough serious thoughts, here's wishing all my dearest friends a BESTest New Year filled with new discoveries, new love/old love, and much much happiness.. :)

rainy days are grumpy days
Why won't the rain just stop? I am stuck at ulu ubi with no lunch such that we have to order Macs delivery. And because of the bad weather, the delivery will take at least 1 hour (*crosses finger and willing it to come soon*)

The only redeeming factor is that MacDonald's now have cup corn! My fave food, a must-order menu item..

a random comment
It is not uncommon for us to hear these words "You look so good in photos, very photogenic!".. makes us wonder why is the comment not extended to describe the way we look in everyday life..

Last week, i received a comment that is the "voice" equivalent of the above "look" comment.

One colleague came up to me and said "Your voice sounds very sweet on the phone".

*pause*

I said "Oh, thanks.." but was thinking what about my voice in real life? Do i sound that different?

Oh well..

Falling down
I really think someone is looking after me up there.

I just hate the feeling of "just before a fall", where your shoes slipped, and you are about to fall on your bum.

Then all of a sudden, i just regained balance, and didn't fall.. and this always happens when i am carrying files, and my laptop!! And worst thing is, it always always happens when i am on the road, just about the cross the traffic junction..

Phew.. miracles do happen..and i need new shoes!

Kiwi Kitty
I love Hello Kitty.

Yesterday, i received a belated bday pressie. It was a Hello Kitty doll clad in a Kiwi suit.. flown from New Zealand! haha.. it looks so ultra adorable! Actually, at first i thought it was a Rhino suit, haha, and was still wondering why SY chose that for me.. but it's so special, cos i don't think S'pore would sell this edition :) Yaay!

For a perfect finish to the pressie, it came with a pack of six lil bottles of jam, and a box of chocolates!

I am one happy girl now.. hee :P

the topic on love
Recently, i have been watching Korean drama serials on VCDs.. and last night, a thought just sort of fleeted across my mind.

Should love make your heart thump a little faster every time u see ur fav person?

Or should love make u appreciate the "comfy feeling" that u have grown so used to, because u know each other just so well?

So of you might say the first feeling would surely not last, and is only present in the honey moon period of a relationship, but just pause and think, wouldn't it be great if that lovey dovey, head-over-heels feeling lasted throughout the relationship?

Not that the second feeling is not good too.. hmm, i don't know too. Just a thought.

Super tuesday
I had a really super day yesterday.

In the morning, i received "not-so-good" news from manda that we cannot choose wedding gown designer as planned. Poor manda had some last min eeeky stuff that spoiled her original purrrfect plan! But not to fret manda, we can arrange again yah!! :P

So i decided to pop down to parkway parade and settle some boring banking admin stuff. I knew i had to do it soon before i go back to work next week, so might as well juz get down to things yesterday. All turned out well in the end, except i forgot this friday's dinner plan, and ended up eating jap food with mummy. Was supposed to abstain from jap food this week, and keep the craving level real high before jap buffet dinner this friday with the gals at HonJin.

Around 1 plus, i received a sms from grace, asking me to go town and shop shop a while before we each meet up with other friends around 4 pm. So i hopped on the mrt and headed for Mango and Zara! We just kept trying and trying on so many outfits.. So is tomorrow shopping on again gracie? hee..

In the evening, i watched "The King and The Clown" with SY. Thought it was a comedy, but guess i misinterpreted the movie reviews.. haha.. no wonder SY said it was an "unusual movie request" from me.. haha.. and i felt a teeny lil bad that we had to shift seats further in front during the show cos yours truly didn't have specs with her. haha.. and i really needed to read the subtitles clearly, cos the dialogue was in Korean. At the end of the show, SY had to clarify the ending, cos i apparently missed the subtitles at the start of the show, and hence, missed the narration that connects with the ending :P Oh well..

For dinner, we had like the yummiest Yu-Sheng (raw fish) ever! .. haha.. i always seem to have my "favourite" food, but this time, i am soo soo sure the raw fish we had at the Rice Rolls (zhu chang fen) shop near Somerset, was the favourite of all my favourites!! hahaha.. :) We also tried the fresh prawn, unagi and mushrooms rice rolls, and crispy beancurd-skin prawn roll... but i still love the raw fish bestest (emphasis intended :P)

The night was complete with my fav Brazil team winning 3-0 against Ghana.. haha.. how cool was my day!

Best of taipei
This is a belated entry.

First week of my long leave, Kenneth and i hopped on a plane to Taipei, the land where girls are v fashionably clad in mini skirts and canvas shoes, and with honey-like voices, where guys have funky hairdos, and go to school w super jap uniforms! This is also the land with my all-time favourite drink, BUBBLE TEA!!

So we had a wild time, immersing ourselves in the scenery, culture and of cos, glorious glorious food. In total, we took over 400 pictures, and developed 360 plus pics and compiled them into a pretty album for sweet memories.

Here are some extracts of the Best of Taipei:

1) Best Scenic Views

2) Best small snacks in Night Markets, along the streets, and everywhere else

3) Best smiles/poses captured

4) But the best picture award of the whole trip has definitely gotta be this.. check this out!

Haha.. the above picture taken by yours truly..

KL super eating trip
Ok, i have been real lazy and have not blogging, till i got a reminder from a friend! haha.. thanks zueig, or i dunno when my next entry would have been.. haha.

Anyhow, over the long weekend, i joined kenneth and 3 of his work friends for a short getaway trip to KL! it was the first time i ran.. (yes, literally ran, in mini heels and all), across the causeway! The jam was soooo soooo bad on thurs night (the night before Vesak Day), if we didn't get down the bus and ran, we could have missed the train.. our train was scheduled to leave at 10pm, and by the time we ran to the train station, puffing and panting, it was 955pm, just in time!

But alas, the train arrived late for 1 hr 20 mins!! hahaha.. cannot believe my run was for nothing! poor kenneth had to carry 2 BIG bags, haha.. i tried to help, but really v tiring. :P

The train ride wasn't so bad, but i am quite a light sleeper, so didn't managed to sleep much as the other passengers kept walking past our cabin to get to the cafeteria. But the food in KL was sooo sooo good, it kinda made up for our going trip.

The first meal we had was dim sum for breakfast!! quite quite yummy, and we all agreed our fav was the fried tofu, somehow mixed with some fish paste. Such a small restaurant, but super packed with morning people, happily grabbing small trays of dim sum from the staff walking around! We did exactly that, and ate virtually all the different varieties.

Lunch was at this shopping mall, (forgot the name) at Nandos, where we had Hot Peri Peri chicken! My fav side dish was of cos the Hot Peri Peri Corn.. haha.. i loooovvvveee corn!! Even the apple soda had real apple bits in it.. good for combating the hot flavours. The shop even had bottles of the special hot peri peri sauces on the tables, for us to dip more chicken bits in the hot sauce..

Dinner on the first night was seafood, (compliments of kenneth's friend's parents! how sweet of them, as the nice mummy had already treated us to dim sum for breakfast!). We had non-spicy crab, spicy crab in some kinda plum sauce (really good!! my fav dish that night!), butter prawns, chut chut bamboo clams, some seafood rolls (a bit like fried popiah), chicken wings, fresh steamed fish with tomatoes and salted veg, stir fried veggie, and fried rice. And the best part was we were seated juz by the pond/lake, v relaxing ambience. Wow, we ate so full, we juz had to retire early that night, haha, could not bring ourselves to go any night market that night.

Next day, for brunch, we had Ampang Yong Tau Foo! The famous stall..

So yummy, we even had the side orders of fried shui jiao (15 pieces) and soupy shui jiao (another 10 pieces), along with 30 pieces of YTF.. dunno how we managed to eat so much for each meal.. :P

Next at Mid-valley Mega Mall, we had Dunkin Donuts for tea-time, cinnamon flavoured, banana choc, double choc, mocha frosted, Boston cream, white choc.. hahaha..

After which, we continued shopping, buying many pairs of shoes, and 2 of Kenneth's friends went to cut hair, 1 of his friend was exhausted from shopping the day before, so decided to watch MI III while the rest of us shopped.. haha..

For dinner, we hopped down to Chinatown, and had the black and sticky Hokkien Mee, wet Hor Fun, and the hottest aluminium wrapped seafood ever! Ahhhh, i really liked the spicy stingray, the tiny squids in belacan, and the not so spicy fish bbq-ed in special sauce!

On Sun morning, before taking our coach back, we had wanton mee with char siew, pork bones, and more shui jiaos. The stall was so popular, we waited more than 30 mins for our food to arrive, which we had more dim sum during the waiting time.. hahaha... But the noodles was real good, especially the extra plate of char siew we ordered! The unhealthy kind, with lots of bbq-ed sides, honey glazed to perfection! hahaha...

Will post some pics once Kenneth downloaded them.. hee hee. Just try to imagine the above in the meantime! haha

What a weekend, i am highly convinced we each weigh at least 3 to 5 kg heavier! :P

there seems to be generous and great pple all around me.

1) two days ago, i commented to my new found friend/colleague (whom i met only on Monday), that her pencil case was real pretty. It is plastic, and has bright pink swirls over the entire case. Exactly the kind i would love.

And yesterday, when we were at work, she suddenly pulled out an identical one from her bag, and said it's for me! how sweet, she liked it so much, she bought 2, and decided to give me one. and i must emphasise, i juz gotta know her. I was so happy, i was beaming all day long, even brought it home, to pack it nice and good. haha.

2) my senior on a job that ended sometime back has decided to treat us Seafood in JB this weekend. So a group of us are going into JB, where she will take us out for an entire day, and drive us around to shop and eat yummy food. I am quite quite excited, cos it'll be my first time to JB!

yaay! simply cannot wait for weekend, juz a teeny bit away.. :)

no jokes on me
Yesterday was April Fools' Day!

But i did not get "tricked" by anyone, all thanks to my bf who woke me up at 9 am to wish me Happy April Fools' Day, and said "So you know already ah, don't get tricked by others today!"

haha.. cool! Or every year, i will always get bluffed or tricked by someone.. i loved that morning reminder yesterday morning.

skipper doooo
My legs feel so sore and tired, all cos i have been skipping lately.

Bought a new skipping rope on thurs! haha, i can just envision a slimmer me in abt 3 mths time, if i can keep to my "skipping for 15 mins a day" plan. i know 15 mins a day seems so little, but i really don't want to be too ambitious, haha, so i shall keep to my baby plan.

Anyhow, i need someone to teach me to skip the right way! who can skip with their feet slightly, ever so slightly, above the ground, and real quick? Maybe i have coordination problem, cos i can't seem to do it right, in fact, it feels kinda awkward, and i end up laughing.

Ok, a secret. Another reason why i chose skipping is cos i secretly hope it can make me taller! haha.. you really never know, would u? :P

So keep skipping becky, small baby skips.. all the way.

In recent weeks, my jobs at work hasn't exactly been wonderful.

I have been feeling sian, and so not motivated, so one day during lunch, my dear bought me 3 new pens! they are ultra-cute! I even gave them names, and my fav is waterboy (his head is actually a watermelon), haha..

i have been using them at work ever since, and i feel just a teeny bit better and cheery..

This week i can...
This week i can...

1)Take a cab to work with Kenneth

2)Call him at 1145am to go for lunch

3)Meet him at 12pm for lunch

4)Call him at 545pm to pack up

5)Meet him at 6pm to take cab home

Sounds like a fantabulous week (as long as i don't think of the work aspect) :)

Or even if work is horrid, at least these small perks make it bearable!
